On Sept. 3, 2015, Cannondale announced the recall on some of its mountain bikes that equipped with OPI(One Piece Integration) Stem. The effected bicycles are those that equipped with front disc brakes and quick release levers, Check out the following picture:
On Cannondale’s safety recall notice page, it said: “the connection between the base of the OPI stem and the top of the steering tube results in a reduced fatigue life. This could lead to fork failure, with risk of a serious accident or injury.”;
For those customers who bought Cannondale bicycle from Costco between September 2012 and August 2014, you can visit Cannondale Dealers to find a repair center, or return the bicycle to your local Costco for a full refund.
